  1. Mike Streeto Period 3
The death of a young person is always an unfortunate event. All of their hopes dreams and potential is wiped away and the world becomes a darker place because of it. What makes Mike Brown's death even more grim is that he died at the hands of a police officer, a man who swore an oath to uphold the law shot and killed Mike because of an assumption. It is frightening to think that the men and women who swear to protect us still use petty prejudices to accuse someone of a crime. Mike's death was horrible and should not be forgotten.

  2. “The reality is, this is happening all over the country — the criminalization of young black men," said Nate Parker, 34, an actor and producer from Pasadena, California. I think that just because someone is a different color doesn't mean that they have to be the target for everything. What happened to Mike shouldn't have happened and it was a wrong thing to do.

  3. “The police have said that Mr. Brown and Officer Wilson struggled over the officer’s gun. Autopsies showed that Mr. Brown was shot six times, twice in the head.” A young man has died a sad and cruel death from a police man, a man who should be protecting us. What happened to Michael brown was a very sad and terrible thing to happen. He was unarmed young man who was shot not only once but 6 times from a man who should be enforcing the law. I believe the officer who has done this handled the whole situation wrong from the beginning to the end by taking the violent way. What happened was wrong and could have been handled a different way.

  4. It is very upsetting news to hear in the news that somebody has been killed. It is especially bad when the person was killed by a police officer, somebody who is supposed to protect citizens not harm them. In Michael Brown's case people are wondering whether or not the murder was from some sort of racial discrimination. It is even worse to find out that Michael Brown was unarmed and shot not once, but six times." The police have said that Mr. Brown and Officer Wilson struggled over the officer's gun. Autopsies showed that Mr. Brown was shot six times, twice in the head." Instead of enforcing the law like he should, Officer Wilson shot an unarmed citizen six times. I believe that is very wrong and something must be done.

  5. This article was very well put together. It answered a lot of questions I still had about the case of Michael Brown. One thing that struck me about the article is that the author showed no bias against or in support of Officer Darren Wilson. Instead, the article only stated facts, which were that "Officer Wilson grabbed [Michael Brown's] neck and shirt... The police have said that Mr. Brown and Officer Wilson struggled over the officer’s gun. Autopsies showed that Mr. Brown was shot six times, twice in the head.". This was a very good aspect of the article because it allowed the reader to form their own opinion without any influence from the author.

  6. The death of Michael Brown sparked an uprising of sorts. People rioting for injustices. People believing in a cause that hasn't been thought of in a long while. The topic of race inequality has always been an issue in the US, but since the Civil Rights movement many people forgot or ignored the issue because it had been "solved." “He must be remembered for: This is where they started changing what was going on. Oh yeah, there have been other times in history that became seminal moments, and this is one of those moments. And this young man, for whatever reason, has appealed to all of us that we’ve got to solve this and not continue this.” Michael Brown's death made people realize that there was an underlying issue that had been looked over for far too long. Michael Brown's death is something that no one is happy about, because the death of an unarmed young person is never justifiable. But people can look at his death and learn something. His death can change the US, for the better.

  7. The death of the boy Mike Brown made the people in his community realize the police who are supposed to be there to protect and save people killed this young man who was unharmed "A movement means we’ve got to be here for the long haul." The people who support him want change and are ready to fight for it
