I think this poem is amazing! :) i love how i was completly able to relate to it and i was able to laugh at certain parts like the "popping of gum" and the "bath and body works". this poem makes me wonder what happened to the pople in this relationship and what pushed them to the edge. jennifer L p.1
This poem was very creative! When I read this poem, I heard a sarcastic apology. This two-timer really deserves that. Nobody can stand such indecisiveness. "Goodbye" is the perfect answer! Haha! XD
By the way, the part with "Bath and Body Works" reminded me of a kpop song, "No More Perfume on You" by Teen Top. It reminded me of why I hated that song, especially when they sang the lines, "Don’t spray perfume on yourself. If you do so, my girlfriend will find out." It was even more outrageous to me because the singers of that group are around our age. I like to think of myself as still young so promoting the idea of cheating like that to young people as a young person is just disgusting. I wonder if cheating is just increasingly common in our society these days...Or is this something that appears more prevalent as we get older and get more exposed to these romantic relationships?
The friendship that could never last I’m sorry for never being the daughter you always wanted I'm sorry for not always being the friend that always cared I apologize for my past present and future I’m sorry for not always being there.
So many things I have on my plate And so many things I chose to hide But all the things I’m sorry for Will always be held deep inside
I’m sorry for all the fighting All the words that we have thrown I’m sorry I can’t always stay your “little baby” I’m sorry I have grown
I’m sorry I let our friendship die In the midst of all my fears (I have a thousand regrets That I will hold close for the rest of my years) I’m so sorry in every way But the one thing, dad, that I will never apologize for Is loving with all my heart Every second of every day. Jennifer lassman p1
I can accept the things that I cannot change; I have the courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to know the difference. You do not know the difference. I almost pity you, you think that everyone should change- but have you ever t thought that you are the one who needs to change? I’m not sorry for loving you, or wasting my time with you. I’m sorry for never having realized that it wasn’t me, It was you.
Kelly, this is so great ! I laughed so hard reading it. I love the naive tone of the speaker as he or she describes all of the offenses committed. Awesome job !
I love this, Kelly! The tone you used cracked me up. It is the perfect poem for any teenager. I could picture a girl like me saying and doing all of those things and getting away with it a few times until finally, the other person breaks down. This poem is really good!
Kelly this poem has such a nice flow to it. It is so witty and cute! I think that the best part of this is that it is really relatable and it is easy to picture yourself in the position of both the reader and the author. Great job Kell!
A thick, sugary syrup fresh from the honeycomb Is used to create a childhood dream Eyes are closed to indulge in the seemingly continuous flow of sweet The curled droplets fall thick Onto the tongue of which shall taste it
For me, I dare not let that fantastic flavor hit on me The illusion it conveys is all the sweeter While in truth all the more bitter
It is a shame I must reject this gift from you But really, I hate to hear you speak
Slowly drifting away The sweet memories are faded. Now our friendship flows with the wind, in a sway. Like the cool breeze we felt, on those summer nights with our hairs braided.
Reckless and young. We seemed inseparable. We had the same taste in music so we always sung. Every now and then, when I rarely see her, she looks so huggable.
You tried to heal what was broken. But I only pushed you away. I should have reached out, spoken. But it has only gotten worse since last May.
So I’d like to say I’m sorry, For making things this way. Lets go on a safari? And catch up on that day.
Aisha, I really like your poem! It's very sweet and nostalgic. I really like the end when you wrote, "Lets go on a safari?" I didn't expect to see that in this kind of poem, so it was a nice surprise at the end. Great job.
The tiny bubbles in the wine No longer rise to the surface. The riverhead has broken its bread But forgotten to spare in its stead.
With time dwindling they struggle for air. Desperation and anxiety getting their share. Muscles tense and pupils dilate. As seconds remit them closer to their fate.
Enough time for one last possession, A pick a curl and a shot is the succession. The ball cuts through the dense air, And sails high. The sting of swears.
I must admit that you’ve got style; this jacket of yours is really nice. It’s classy, fresh, and very warm. Frankly, it doesn’t match you at all.
I remember that day you first wore it on our date; the clouds must have been thick up there around your head. “She” held you attention longer than I did that evening. That wouldn’t be the last “she” to do just the same.
When with me, you had chosen the most durable and refined material. But now, the ones draped over your shoulders are cheap, flimsy, and like the worst items on the clearance rack.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m not bitter at all. Rather, I’m glad you’ve changed your taste. I’d rather be valued at my true worth instead of suffering on the discount rack.
Each time you call I end up saying sorry Like a million times before the call is over But this time I truly am sorry for lying to you Honestly I was happy that you call but hearing Them there made me feel bad for keeping you away from them, I know how important they are to you even when you said they are not and I know how much it hurts for you to bee away or keep them waiting but you will never know how much it hurts for me to wait each time all by myself, alone in the dark. what hurts the most is I understand their importants in your life and your longing for them sorry for keeping you away and for keep them waiting. sandrine amin period 4
You felt sorry for me when you left me For that nice girl who was my so called best friend. You apologized, but I don't except that apology That you made before you took off with her instead of me.
Next time it will be that girl sitting next to your best friend laughing at you And the only thing you’ll be able to do is, stare at them from distance. That will be the time you'll get to taste the taste of your own medicine Then you'll see what wrong you have done to me.
I possibly won't be able to collect all those time I wasted because of you But the thing I can do is to snatch back the piece of heart, I mistakenly misplaced under your feet to be crushed. Sorry but you have to stay strong wait and watch there is more to come.
And don’t dare you misunderstand!!! Don't think I'm saying this because I still want to hold onto you. I'm doing this caz I have already given up on the person once I ever knew. Let's see what fate has prepared for you.
Your coat is in the closet.
ReplyDeleteYour shoes are at the door.
Your clothes are packed in the suit case.
I can't do this anymore.
I found the napkin with her number.
And I don't wear Bath and Body Works.
I'm sorry I don't care as much,
But I'm done with all your quirks.
I'm done with the way you pop your gum,
I can't stand how you wink your eye,
It's obnoxious how you cheat on me,
So, I'm sorry, but good bye.
