Task:

Choose a photo from the Dust Bowl Era. Include a link to the photo. Write about what you think the image conveys. You may use the following questions to help guide your response:

*What can you tell about the people based on the photograph?

Nickel and Dimed Budget Assignment

If Barbara Ehrenreich were to have conducted her experiment in Branford, what would her experience have been?  Is it possible to live in this town while earning minimum wage?

Look for an apartment in town and determine the cost of utilitites, food, entertainment, cell phone, Internet access, household needs, etc...  Create a budget based on these findings.  Make a spreadsheet for earnings and expenses.  Type a one page explanation of your findings including your reaction.  Submit your spreadsheet and reaction paper this Friday and be prepared to dicuss with your classmates.
