* Dylan and Eric were two high school students with some troubles. They both decided to commit one of the most upsetting tragedies in America. On April 20th 1990, with a year of preperation, they killed 13 people and 21 injurded between teachers and young adults. They used pipe bombs and guns, they put together bombs that were supposed to blow up at 11:17 so they could kill more people and as they were running. Both Dylan and Eric knew they weren't going to make it out of there, they were ready to die.

* Eric was really into the Nazi's and what they stood for not about jewish people but about people. He wanted to kill all the jocks. He wanted to make a point. He hated them and wanted jocks to die. But while firing he aimed at anyone he could but still focused on how many jocks he could kill.
* "At first it was thought to be a capital I but turned out to be a numeral: ("1 BLEEDING TO DEATH")" {64}
A sophomore wrote this on the white board to signal police and swat teams. They wrote this for a teacher. Mr. Dave Sanders. He was shot by Eric right outside of science room 3. Two teachers went out of the classroom, not sure if the gunman were still out there and carried him into the room so he would have a chance of living. This affected me because many students were in that room and saw that man struggling for life. It affected these kids who were scared and hurt. S.W.A.T took 3 hours to get in because they were going in without maps and having to get kids out. It was hard for all the people around that place. But unfortunately Mr. Sanders life was taken that day.
* Why did these two teenagers decide to take the lives of so many innocent people? What caused them to want to do this?
Eric and Dylan were previously aressted a year before the massecre for breaking into a van. Eric went through multiple psycotheropy sessions atfer the aresst. Dave Cullen noted that this was the starting point in Eric's behavior. The two boys were planing to kill as much as they could. After a year of planning, they followed through with their plans. Lucky, the main bomb that was planted in the lunch area near a colum did not explode as planned. 500+ students were in the lunch area at the time and the bomb would've killed a large number of them had it gone off.
The FBI withheld very graphic evidence called "The Basement Videos". They were videos of Eric and Dylan talking about the event to come. They also recorded thier shooting range practice.
The videos also known as the "basement videos" were disturbing in itself with the threats. I think Dylan was reaching out for someone and know one was there for him. While this is what eric wanted he didn't want someone to stop him. He wanted to die along with other people. Also there were two sets of parents... where were they while they were planning this or buying the guns and suppplies. Dylans parents were also dealing with their older son Byron. They kicked him out of the house because he was doing drugs and it wasn't acceptable to them. Also Dylan didn't have to much information about the plan in his house he hid most of it. But the Kebolds could have found out if they were involved more in Dylans life. Erics parents had more chances to know what was going on. His father knew that these bombs were being made. He tried to stop him, but didn't keep on top of it. Also Eric had most of this stuff in his room. I don't understand how these parents didn't know anything. Also the police had evidence on a website and knew about things the Brooks Brown told them. They had enough for a search warrent. The detective filed out an afadavit but never applied it. If the police took action they could have stopped this before this happened. But this was also an impossible situation because these boys were very secretitive and they were both manipulators. It also had to be hard for the families of the killers because they had the guilt of this and since the killers weren't here to blame, everyone blamed the families and they couldn't even grief for their love one. They had to deal with what they did along with if they were going to blamed with their sons crimes. This was a really tragic incident. I just wonder if they both wanted to go along with it? Or did one push the other?
I wondered this aswell. I think Eric was the one that really wanted to follow through with this and the reason I say this, is because Eric wasn't a shy person and didn't really care about what happened to other people. Eric hide his "troubled self" very well. Even after going through psyco therapy, he seemed to hold on to some sort of grudge.
I wonder if more people could've been saved during the event. For example, Dave Sanders.
I think if the S.W.A.T team got inside faster. They were already prepared and knew they were going in blind one way or the other. or had a student or teacher draw a map out so they could find the classroom faster and got a medic in there to take care of him. His life might have been saved. But know one will know if that would have helped.
